Some visitors have mentioned that one side of the restaurant tends to be darker, which could impact the dining experience. The venue can get quite busy, especially on Saturday evenings, leading to potential wait times for both seating and service. Though generally accessible, a few diners have noted minor limitations regarding wheelchair accessibility in certain areas. Occasionally, the noise level during peak hours might not be suitable for intimate conversations. Other reviews suggest that ordering via delivery sometimes results in missed items, though staff remain eager to resolve such issues promptly.
Entering this venue for the first time we were greeted with smiles, shown to our table. Right from the word go the atmosphere was very pleasant and not put on.. Food was outstanding, dinner & pudding. Michelle the owner spent time chatting with everyone and not just for a couple of minutes. She's a warm soul who I could tell genuinely cared about her customers. The decor was tastefully done. One side of the restaurant did seem to be a bit darker than the other ( just an observation not a complaint) Parking area ample. Some outside seating. Can't wait to return. 💚
We held our dads 80th birthday lunch for 31 people at The Rest in Neilston yesterday and 5 stars across the board just isn’t high enough, from initial booking to the menu selection and then arriving in the restaurant yesterday was so easy. Upon arrival the longest table I’ve ever seen looked sensational and once everyone had arrived it looked even better. We can’t thank the team working yesterday enough, they could not have done anymore to ensure dad’s birthday was celebrated and enjoyed by everyone there. The service, the food, the birthday music, everyone in the restaurant was singing happy birthday for the cake being brought out, and the whole event was PERFECT, thanks again Lynn & Karen xx
Had lunch with a couple of friends. We ate from the set menu as there was a great selection to choose from. Portion sizes were perfect for a lunch. The food was lovely and tasty. £19 for 3 courses from a small plates menu. The staff were really nice and attentive. The venue is nice and big and airy and clean and nicely decorated. Looking forward to going going back. It was easy to park. There are a couple of disabled spaces. Toilets were spotless. Just a great feel to the whole place. I would highly recommend here.
I had an amazing experience at The Rest since its reopening! The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of delicious options to satisfy every craving. The highlight was the Katsu curry – it was absolutely fantastic! A special shout-out to Lisa, who made our visit even more enjoyable. She was so welcoming, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout our time there. The staff truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Highly recommend The Rest for its great food and wonderful service!
Quiet on a Sunday afternoon. Only popped in for a pint and to use the facilities. Forgot to buy food, played some pool, watched some football, stayed for a few too many (Drygate 7 peaks goes down too easily). Don't remember getting home. Good times.
We have used The Rest for a function and we’ve had been for meals. Food is great, pricing is fair and staff are lovely. Very patient with children and my four year old says that they make the best macaroni cheese ever!
